New long-term strategies help mitigate drug shortages

The American Society of Health-System Pharmacists, the Institute for Safe Medication Practices, the American Hospital Association, and other healthcare groups have developed a number of long-term strategies to address drug shortages and released their recommendations in a report.

One recommendation is to create a list of critical drugs to help with prioritizing efforts to resolve drug shortages.
