In two separate late July announcements, Covance is showing an increasing interest in earlier phase services. First, Covance announced it would acquire a Seattle-based gene expression laboratory from Merck, along with Merck’s commitment to a five-year $145 million contract to purchase genomic analysis services from the CRO.
