Dermatologist Judith Hellman, M.D., says she used the pulsed dye laser since about 2003 to treat acne. But for the last few years, Dr. Hellman says she has largely replaced that technology with a radiofrequency (RF) microneedling device.

Microneedle RF for cellulite
In a study of 28 female patients with cellulite, the Profound (Syneron Candela) microneedle-based fractional radiofrequency device resulted in a 100% response rate at various degrees for rebuilding collagen, elastin and hyaluronic acid. Most patients in the study are planning to do a second treatment, with the hopes to achieve further enhancement of results.
