Smelling Arthritis
Gas chromatography–mass spectrometry (GC–MS) may be a viable diagnostic tool for inflammatory arthritis according to research from the University of Amsterdam. The study used an “electronic nose” (eNose) and GC–MS to detect volatile organic compounds (VOCs) specific to rheumatoid arthritis (RA) within the breathprints of patients.
