Pesticide Screening and Quantitation in Cotton Goods
Multi-component methods for the detection of pesticides have been developed and used for detection of low-levels of pesticides in food, animal feedstuff, and cotton. Profiling of finished cotton goods from traditional and organic sources, such as T-shirts and baby diapers, from different countries of origin, could be very useful to screen for pesticides used in cotton production. Quantification of the pesticides detected in the final product can be done to determine if they can still be harmful to humans or domestic animals. In this paper we present an MRM3 method for detection and quantitation of Malathion residue in cotton goods.
