2D LC for characterizing humic substances
Multidimensional chromatography is a useful technique for the analysis of complex samples such as humic substances. Previously used techniques have definite limitations in terms of their selectivity and separation range leading to the need for multi-stage separation procedures for samples containing a wide variety of different components. The advantages of multidimensional chromatography in such applications are explained here. More... |

The Benefits of Moving from Single to Multi-detector Size-exclusion Chromatography
Thursday, December 1, 2011, - 11:00 AM EST; 4:00 PM GMT The addition of extra detectors such as light scattering and intrinsic viscosity to a single-detector size-exclusion chromatography system or, better still, the use of an integrated multi-detector size-exclusion chromatography system can pay significant dividends in the breadth of sample information generated.

Detection of Phthalate compounds by LC-MS/MS
Phthalates are widely used industrial chemicals, present in products ranging from building materials and adhesives to various household products and food containers. Leaching of these compounds into food, beverage, and cosmetic products have produced a need for analytical methods that can reliably test for Phthalates with a high level of sensitivity, specificity, and reliability. Here we present a new and unique method using AB SCIEX QTRAP 5500 MS system to detect 22 phthalate compounds with significant advantages over other techniques (particularly GC) including reduced sample preparation time, shorter analysis times, and better and overall more reliable quantitative results.
