2012 was a successful year in terms of product approvals. Twelve biopharmaceutical marketing applications were approved in the United States and/or the European Union in 2012. Approval numbers for the past year are in line with those recorded over the previous five years (1-4), which reveal a statistical average of 12.2 approvals annually.
