Team HCLI.

At the outset, I would like to thank you for participating in the Gold Standards. launch. My special thanks and wishes to those who have internalized the Gold Standards. thought and have been able to positively verbalize about their alignment with this initiative. I would like to reiterate that the . journey is not just going to be a way of life but the means to living itself.

For those to whom the message did not resonate, I would only say, that there is ample time to reach out, to seek clarification and to clear your doubts. Think about the last few episodes of sub-optimal service that you received from a colleague, your manager or team member. Then extrapolate these episodes and visualize how these incidences could have been turned into Gold Standards. moments for you. Think!

Let me share a few examples that I observed since the start of this journey in the first 100 hours.

I met with two employees, who had joined the company last month, both of them had a "poor on boarding" experience (Seating arrangement, Laptop availability and so on), thus were clearly performing below potential. The HR team, the Administration team and the leadership clearly had not been serving as per Gold Standards. We paid the cost of sub-optimal utilization and did not have an enabling environment for an employee to perform his duties upto "Full Potential".

Over the weekend, I had a functional review of the leadership and noticed that there was still some "iffiness" around the initiative. The functional presentations were not Gold Standards., assumptions that assumed mediocrity and a "Passing-the-buck" syndrome when it came to making and meeting commitments were also evident. This is clearly not the spirit of Gold Standards. This is clearly not the HCL Infosystems, we want to be. This is clearly not "Us being Us."- Full Potential.

I wish to re-emphasize that this initiative is about "all of us" and "not some of us". There is NO "80:20 rule" here; it has to be 100%. There is NO "Bell Curve" here. It is one and all. Each and every one of us have to become Gold Standards., we may have varying levels of competencies, experiences and operating environments but to be part of HCLI, we have to deliver and demand Gold Standards.

For all those enthusiastic HCLites who sent mails, messages and called about the program, ensure that you share your experiences, ideas and reasons for being enthusiastic, so that you create that positive energy for others to appreciate and align to our cause.

It is important that we are clear about why are we doing this, what we want to achieve, how we want to achieve and by when we want to achieve it. The Gold Standards. Team would launch a portal in the coming week end, where they will provide a platform for you to make and monitor your pledge. Our first goal is 100% pledge from each and every one of us. Yes, 100% . It is not "how many of us take the pledge, it is by when?".

To make it fun, watch this space for the goodies!!!

I would like to give about 3 weeks post the launch of the portal for each and every one of us to complete the pledge. It is only then that we would really and truly get going.

IThere is an urgency to achieve our "Full Potential"- I repeat, it will be fun only if we ask uncomfortable questions to each other and accordingly trigger action and keep raising the bar.

One more time, I reach out to you to strengthen the initiative and welcome any thoughts you have on the program, directly to me at goldstandards@hcl.com.

Wishing each one of you Merry Christmas and a Happy and Prosperous New "Golden 2015"!.
And finally I will eagerly look forward to many Gold Standards.!
Experiences in the coming year from each one of you.
