 May 21, 2013

 Award Lecture

Today's Award Lecture: Catherine C. Fenselau
By: Laura Bush

May 21 – VancouverCanada – Catherine C. Fenselau, professor of chemistry and biochemistry at the University of Maryland, is the 2012 recipient of the Award for a Distinguished Contribution in Mass Spectrometry, granted by the American Society for Mass Spectrometry (ASMS). The award honors her pioneering work to apply mass spectrometry to the rapid identification and characterization of intact microorganisms.

 Application Note

Precise MW Determination of Intact Proteins by Multiple Charge State Analysis of MALDI Generated Ions

The use of DHAP as MALDI matrix enhances the formation of multiple charged protein ions. The ultrafleXtreme with FlashDetector in combination with 4GS/s digitization rate can turn externally calibrated high quality data obtained from DHAP preparations into intact protein molecular weight (MW) information at hitherto unknown accuracy levels in the low ppm range.
