Join us for a free webinar - November 10th at 10am (EST) to learn about compound identification with LC-MSn.
Reliable compound identification with non-targeted liquid chromatography-tandem mass spectrometry (LC-MS/MS) is a major challenge. It involves matching against reference data. For fast and automated identification, tandem mass spectral libraries are queried with appropriate search tools. Reliability of search as well as time and efforts spent for data reviewing very much depend on the quality of the database involved.
Dr. Herbert Oberacher will give an overview on our efforts towards the development of a reliable, robust, and transferable tandem mass spectral database, and how such a database can successfully be implemented in workflows for comprehensive drug analysis.
More about our speaker:
Dr. Herbert Oberacher is an analytical chemist and the head of an independent research group and the scientific leader of the 'Core Facility Metabolomics' of the Medical University of Innsbruck. His research focuses on the development of techniques for the analysis of bioorganic molecules with special emphasis on small molecules and nucleic acids and on the application of analytical chemistry in medical, biological and pharmaceutical research. Dr. Oberacher developed the Wiley Registry of Tandem Mass Spectral Data: MS for ID, co-authored more than 80 papers in international scientific journals and holds three patents.
