A poster by Advanced Materials Technology, presented at 2016 ASMS meeting this June in San Antonio, TX, described studies in which various mobile phase additives were compared for gradient LC-UV and LC-MS analyses of proteins, intact monoclonal antibodies and their fragments. Superficially porous particle (SPP, Fused-CoreÒ 400 Ångstrom and prototype 1000 Ångstrom) columns compared favorably with 300 Ångstrom totally porous columns for the analyses of protein mixtures, intact mAbs and their fragments using a new additive, difluoroacetic acid (DFA).
