REDEFINING THE STREETWEAR LANDSCAPE.

Next is NOW.

S.L.A.T.E.'s 2010 August show is right around the corner. With it comes one of the most innovative and ground-breaking platforms for skate, surf and street fashion. For those looking for brand's pushing the boundaries of creativity, S.L.A.T.E. will once again be an important stop to check. Inspiration is just a few weeks away.

Check out the latest in this month's newsletter as it includes Akomplice, Keep, J!NX, Stussy and TKDK.

The Akomplice movement has been growing and gaining momentum since its inception six years ago. Pushing the limits of what has been done before has always been something important to owners Mike & Patrick Mccarney. Their latest offering is no exception as they introduce stand alone items such as: Chambray shorts, a detachable hooded pea coat, functional upside-down pocket tees, and a money clip infused wallet. Akomplice offers two lines of clothing: the classic AK line and the more mature VSOP line. Items such as the VSOP Pelican Belt pair original functionality with a clean, refined style, making them the timeless classics of the future. What really separates Akomplice from the rest of the pack are the concepts they inject into their clothing. At S.L.A.T.E, Akomplice will be showing their appropriately titled Spring/Summer 2011 line, "The Summer of Love," which reflects these ideas and illustrates the New World Order they are promoting. Also, keep your eyes open as Akomplice unrolls a series of projects that take the company far beyond the confines of the clothing industry.

Established in 2005 and based in Los Angeles, California, Keep is a shoe company, an amalgam of interests, a way of being, a force, a language, a family and many other things. Keep is proud to work closely with an international community of artists, thinkers, photographers and humorists.

After successfully establishing J!NX as the clothing brand inspired by video games and geek culture, it was only a matter of time until the brand expanded to create a full cut and sew line. The collection consists of shirts, chinos, outerwear and sweaters. The pea and trench coats have intricate detail, with structured pockets and branded buttons, alongside the J!NX imagery which is prominent throughout the line.

Stussy will collaborate with Japanese brand Neighborhood to present a second Boneyards project, for Holiday 2010. Named for secret surf spot in San Pedro, California, Boneyards embodies the casual elegance of both brands in what will surely be one of the most highly anticipated collaborations of the season. Inspired by the motorcycle clubs of East Los Angeles in the 50’s, 60’s & 70’s, this follow up to the initial Boneyards collaboration in 2008, will consist of a 36 piece collection of separates. Highlights include notable items such as limited edition Levi Trucker jacket as well as a series of twill patches. Boneyards provides the perfect mix of the laid back vibe of Stussy with the impeccable styling and detailing of Neighborhood and was born out of longtime friendship between the two cult-status brands. A photo zine of Boneyards II will feature photography of the East Los Angeles motorcycle clubs along with interviews, current photo shoots and artwork from the project will be available at select retail locations.
