REDEFINING
THE STREETWEAR LANDSCAPE. Next is NOW.
S.L.A.T.E. has become a
leading destination for those looking to experience the latest
and greatest in the realm of skate, surf and street fashion.
For these emerging brands, many are on the cusp of being the
next big and inspirational fashion movement. With some
highly-creative personalities at their backs, the
culturally-heavy S.L.A.T.E. exhibition should be a definitive
stop for those looking for new and
innovative.
Check out the latest in this
month's newsletter as it includes Crooks & Castles, DGK,
Good Wood and Hype Means Nothing.
Since 2002, Crooks &
Castles has carved its unique niche in today’s fashion
scene. Known for combining both the grittiness of the street
lifestyle with the elegance of the lush life, Crooks has added
another key addition to its ever growing empire.
The
Los Angeles based brand is taking its’ next step by adding
Footwear to its’ repertoire. The Summer 2010 Collection is the
inaugural release featuring four distinct styles fitting of
the Crooks name. The collection consists of both Lo-Tops
(I.S.A, Deklo) and Hi’s (Apache, Redfoot) and all styles are
available in multiple colorways. Inspired by a clean and
simple design aesthetic, the brand developed this new
collection to serve as the perfect complement to the Crooks
& Castles lifestyle.

Considered one of the pioneers of
merging skateboarding and hip-hop, DGK was founded in
2001 by professional skateboarder Stevie Williams. Dirty
Ghetto Kids, DGK, is no longer a derogatory term pinned to a
group of kids on the streets of Philadelphia, but a testament
to the will of skateboarders world-wide. Known for its bold
graphics, DGK will be offering a full cut and sew apparel line
for Fall 2010. Whether at the skate spot or on the block,
DGK's got you covered from head to toe. Keep your eyes open
for limited releases and collaborations.

Inspiring a new wave of reasonably
priced and creatively designed jewelery, Good Wood as
the name suggests utilizes wood at the forefront of their
design. Ranging from multiple laser-etched models and colors,
the brand's signature Jesus piece effectively ushered the
brand in and how now made it a popular and relevant
accessories line.

Hype Means
Nothing has gained a great deal of buzz
over the last few seasons on the backs of their portrait-based
t-shirts featuring prominent black and white photography. The
line has featured many high-profile celebrities and
personalities over various creative platforms. Hype Means
Nothing has taken their concept beyond t-shirts in recent
times to include everything from iPhone cases and Fiat
