Women’s Graphics F/W 2011-12
Monochromatic, Mixed Media, Checks & Midnight Garden

Graphics for ladies bring in new prints and patterns while showing an evolution of current hits. Monochromatics continue and midnight garden becomes the newest floral statement. Checks take off where plaids left off and mixed media becomes a novelty expression.

Monochromatic patterns continue from spring and are expressed in a variety of mediums including black grounded polka dots, blocking and photo real expressions.

Mixed media patchwork patterns get stronger this Fall with interesting mixes of fabrics and patterns creating art-to-wear appeal.

Plaids fade away and the replacement is a variety of windowpane checks, as well as buffalo and houndstooth check.

Dark grounded florals become the biggest floral expression on the Fall runways keeping in tune with a dark moody season.

Men’s Materials F/W 2011-12
Flannel, Fur & Velvet

Materials for Fall/Winter 11-12 are driven by strong outerwear offerings. Flannel is a strong must have especially when the conversation turns to bottoms while various furs are key for trim. Luxury materials also make an appearance for men with Velvet being key.

Materials F/W 11 - Flannel
Flannel is a strong must have for men this season in both the top and bottom product.

Materials F/W 11 - Fur
Fur is key in all over applications as well as trims.

Materials F/W 11 - Velvet
Luxurious velvet becomes a must have for pants and blazers.

Men’s Graphics F/W 2011-12
Alpine, Checks, Traditional Plaids & Fair Isle

Prints and patterns for men offer traditional and winter minded options. Alpine is expressed best in Fair Isle patterns and checks take over the momentum from plaids; though classic tartans remain.

Alpine and Nordic Fair Isles become key sweater expressions. D&G dedicated their entire show to this strong motif.

Plaids decrease this season and are partially replaced by a variety of checks including buffalo check, window pane and tonal plaid checks.

After 18 months, traditional plaids are still on the runways featured as traditional tartans or American heritage cowboy layouts.
