We Can All Lend a Hand to the People of Haiti! Donate Excess Product to Help Rebuild Lives.

Dear MAGIC Exhibitor
Thank you for helping to make another exciting and successful MAGIC show. While there, you likely saw the signs and flyers for your company's assistance to help the people of Haiti. As you also know, their challenges remain significant. As a board member of Kids in Distressed Situations, Inc. (K.I.D.S.), I'm happy to report that donations of product for children have reached nearly $15 million, and donations of adult and home furnishings product to Fashion Delivers is now at $20 million. This progress clearly shows the generosity of our industries, but there is also more that can be done.

Continued donations of new, excess product will help the people of Haiti start to rebuild their lives. We still need products of lightweight apparel for children and adults, including t-shirts, tops, shirts, jeans, shorts, slacks, sportswear, active wear, baseball caps, sneakers, sandals and sleepwear. Basic items such as underwear, socks, sheets (all sizes), towels and throws or lightweight blankets are also needed. Every day another Haitian fights to rebuild his or her life, and your company can provide essential products to make that process happen. A new dress or shirt or a pair of pants reminds disaster survivors that life can get back on track and that someone cares. Hope can help the victims of Haiti return to a normal life.

The ultimate rebuilding of Haiti will continue for months and years to come, and as K.I.D.S. and Fashion Delivers continue with that work, they will also keep supporting the children, families and adults that are part of the everyday disaster of poverty throughout the United States. As with many major challenges in our society, the need is great, but the opportunities to help are relatively easy.
