Event Overview:
You’ve heard it before, nearly half of study sites don’t meet enrollment requirements or fail to enroll a single patient[1] <#_ftn1> . This contributes to extended study timelines and increased competition for high performing study sites. As an added challenge, the number of U.S.-based Principal Investigators has dropped by about 50% since 1990[2] <#_ftn2> . Increasingly, study naïve sites are getting involved in clinical research. As with any contracted partner relationship, clinical sites need training, on-boarding, and ongoing performance measurements in order to succeed.
So how does a sponsor or CRO improve site performance and encourage enrollment success across the activated study sites? We know that patient recruitment difficulties account for up to 45% of study delays[3] <#_ftn3> . Why not take advantage of the time before the site activation visit (SIV) to help prepare the site to meet patient enrollment goals?
Join UBC as we discuss specific strategies to optimize study start-up and help sites reach enrollment goals. Our thoughtleaders will share a recent case study, illustrating the approach and outcome of each tactic.
Key Learning Objectives:
- Identify specific strategies to employ during study start-up to impact patient enrollment
- Reveal a novel approach to partner with study sites and encourage their success
- Proactively mitigate challenges that impede site performance
- Share strategies to prepare research-naïve sites for patient recruitment and enrollment
