• CA2M 711 is a new spectrophotometer reference material artifact that is intended for the validation of the instrument’s spectral bandwidth (SBW). This important instrumental parameter needs to be verified periodically because spectral resolution impacts the quality of both wavelength and absorbance measurement results. It should be the first test conducted in the performance evaluation and qualification of a spectrophotometer because, if not, the testing results for measurements of wavelength and photometric reference material artifacts may be misinterpreted.

Compared to other references such as toluene in hexane, the CA2M 711 measurementstandard facilitates significant improvements in the testing and verification of spectral resolution in molecular absorption spectrophotometry. • An expanded measurement service is now available for the recertification of UV/VIS spectrophotometer measurement standards. The measurement service program includes the recertification of wavelength standards such as NIST SRM 2034, the Stranaska and Refmacal brands of CRM 100, and wavelength standards from other 3rd-party commercial suppliers. The measurement service program has also been expanded to include different calibration procedures for the recertification of photometric standards such as NIST transmittance artifacts (SRM 930, SRM 1930, SRM 2930 and SRM 2031 series), the Stranaska and Refmacal brands (CRM 200, CRM 300, CRM 400 and CRM 500), and photometric and stray light standards (in addition to CRM 600) from other 3rd-party commercial suppliers.
