Harvard Medical School

Dear Pharmaceutical Executive,

Because you lead in a field that's increasingly impacted by bioethics, I'm writing to tell you that the Center for Bioethics at Harvard Medical School (bioethics.hms.harvard.edu) has launched a new Master's program that teaches principles and practices of bioethics and provides a mentored hands-on field experience. Ideal candidates are mid-career clinicians, lawyers, administrators and business professionals in healthcare, pharmaceuticals, biotechnology, or related life sciences fields. A limited number of post-baccalaureate an d post-graduate degree positions will also be available to exceptionally qualified applicants.

Given your role, it's likely that you know individuals who would be fitting candidates for this program. I’m writing to let you know that we would welcome applications from these individuals for the inaugural class.

The program is offered as either a full-time (one year) or part-time (two years) course of study. I encourage you to visit the program's website at bioethics.hms.harvard.edu/master-bioethics, download our brochure, and forward this information to individuals whom you feel would be interested in this opportunity.

The Master's program in Bioethics is currently accepting qualified candidates on a rolling admission basis at bioethics.hms.harvard.edu. Given that the new term will begin in September, I suggest they apply as soon as possible.

Accepted applicants will gain the knowledge, skills, methodologies and experience needed to provide effective ethical consultation and oversight on complex issues and cases.

I welcome any questions that you have about the program as well, and thanks in advance for your assistance.

Sincerely,

Rebecca Weintraub Brendel, M.D., J.D.
