PDA Education's Quality Week, Aug. 15-18, will help you design more effective and efficient non-production processes, become more valuable to your organization and identify what quality metrics or performance indicators your operation needs to consider.
Taught by Robert Kieffer, PhD, a recognized authority on quality management and quality system design, PDA's Quality Week includes the following courses:
Application of Quality Risk Management to Non-Production Processes in the Pharmaceutical Quality System - NEW COURSE (Aug. 15)
This course addresses the need for information regarding the application of quality risk management to pharmaceutical production supporting processes. Specifically, models of various supporting processes that integrate quality risk management into their design will be presented.
This course will focus on how to recognize biases/errors made in the estimation of severity and probability of a failure and reduce their influence in order to obtain more accurate estimations of severity and probability.
Role of the Quality Professional in the 21st Century (Aug. 16-17)
In this course, the traditional role of the quality unit will be contrasted with what the modern role of the quality professional should be. The role of senior management and production management as it relates to the responsibilities of the quality unit will also be discussed.
Gain new skills through interactive, small group exercises with a focus on process design, evaluation and management, risk and root cause analysis, quality costs and quality metrics, and promotion of quality.
Upon completion of this course, you will be able to:
- Define a new, more proactive role that makes you more valuable to your organization
- Utilize skills learned in the course that enable you to fulfill this new role
Quality Metrics: Performance Indicators (Aug. 18)
During this course, you'll learn how to identify what quality metrics or performance indicators your operation needs to consider, collect and analyze the appropriate data in the most cost effective way and use any data collected and analyzed to drive continuous improvement of the quality system!
Learn how to gather metrics for the:
- Production process
- Supporting processes such as change control, training and validation
- Supplier processes
- Materials management
Measurement of management and business processes will also be discussed, and numerous exercises will be used to enable participants to develop their own sets of metrics for use in their organizations.
