This paper explains how new, portable, lab-grade instruments are being used at-line for accurate monitoring of nutrient content to improve the nutritional quality of many foods.
The ability to conduct elemental analysis of materials close to the production line versus expensive and time-consuming lab analysis shows many significant advantages for food processors such as improved product quality, consistency, reduced production costs, and increased throughput.
This application note reports on how this new instrument is being used for micronutrient analysis of grains for infant cereals and milk-based powders and premixes where margins are thin but the ability to precisely determine elemental composition can be critical.
